PPP Cameras is releasing a trio of digital watches based on classic Nikon film cameras.

All three watches are Casio models revamped to echo the colouring used in film-era Nikon cameras.

“A striking yellow display, echoing Nikons signature branding,” PPP Cameras said on the watches’ launch. “Completing the look is a canvas watch strap with yellow stitching accents, inspired by the iconic camera straps supplied with Nikon cameras.”

The N168 Black Edition echoes black SLRs from the 1970s on, while the N168 Chrome Edition is influenced by the classic chrome Nikon SLRs.

The N168 Titanium Edition, meanwhile, evokes the cult Nikon 28Ti and 35Ti compact released in the 1990s.

The Black Edition costs £170, while the Chrome and Titanium editions cost £150 each. The watches are available to pre-order now for delivery in May.

The newly announced Nikon-inspired watches follow the release of the Casio M-Edition announced earlier this year, which is influenced by the classic Leica M range of rangefinder cameras.

PPP Cameras is run by Pierro Pozella, the British camera repairer who has joined the line-up of the BBC television programme ‘The Repair Shop’, where he restores and revives troubled cameras.

Along with PPP Repairs, the repair service he set up more than decade ago, he also runs the PPP Film Lab, developing 35mm, 120, APS and 110 film from his lab in Birmingham.
